  • La pérdida de visión disminuye con la terapia de células encapsuladas

    Un ensayo clí­nico de fase 2 para el tratamiento de una forma grave de la degeneración macular relacionada con la edad llamada atrofia geográfica (GA) se ha convertido en el primer estudio que muestra el beneficio de una terapia para frenar la progresión de la pérdida de la visión de esta enfermedad. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto el beneficio de la utilización de un factor neurotrófico para tratarla y dar esperanza a casi un millón de estadounidenses que sufren GA.
